Energy Star Labels are there to help you and reassure you on the quality of the products they are displayed on and on the integrity and respectability of the manufacturer.
We’ve all seen this one, and most of us already trust it. For the suspicious few out there, let it be known this now international label was first created in 1992 as a United States government program, soon adopted by many countries in the world. Because they meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environment Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy, devices and appliances carrying this logo prevent greenhouse gas emissions.
The best way to know how much energy your appliances are using (and how much you could be saving) is to calculate it yourself, by going to the Energy Star official website. Â
