5.    Greener Razors

Green Razors

Razors aren't a cosmetic product, but they are part of women's daily routine and are so widely used that the waste (and long-term cost) they generate is a concern. Most women own a razor, and many of them simply use a disposable, inexpensive one. If you are one of the latter, opt for Recycline Preserve Razor Recyclable, a disposable razor entirely made of recycled plastic, with a fully recyclable handle.

Preserve is a 17-people American company that manufactures disposable products such as razors but also toothbrushes, toothpicks, and tongue scrapers. 65 % of their razors’ handle is made with recycled Stonyfield Farms organic yogurt cups. You can then recycle it at the curb in participating cities and communities (it’s made of # 5 plastic), or using a pre-paid envelope. It will then have a second life as plastic lumber to create park benches or decks.  $1 for 4 double-blade razors, available in our store.
