We, at JustLiveGreener, would like to urge you all to take action with regards to the tragedy taking place off the shores of Louisiana. Please contact President Obama using the Sierra Club’s form to remind him and his administration that oil is dirty and dangerous, and that we need to build a clean-energy economy, now.

Â
On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil rig located in the Gulf of Mexico, 41 miles off the Louisiana coast, exploded and eventually sank, taking the lives of 11 people onboard. It has since been spilling crude oil at the alarming rate of 210,000 gallons, and is estimated to be the worst environmental disaster in the US history.  The now called “BP Oil Spill†has catastrophic environmental consequences for the nearby shoreline, fisheries and wildlife. People and the environment need to come first, not profits for a handful of big companies.
If we exert enough public pressure, we can help ensure that environmental tragedies, such as the one happening right now in Louisiana, will no longer take place. Please sign the Sierra Club’s form now, tell your friends, and help put a stop to future ecological disasters.
